On April 2017, DTI-Caraga and the British Council sponsored the Impact Guild-facilitated first Social Enterprise Leadership Workshop—a social entrepreneurship boot camp for Caraga community-based enterprises held in Butuan City.
The workshop was attended by more than 40 participants-- leaders of micro, small and medium enterprises from the provinces of Agusan del Norte, Agusan del Sur, Surigao del Norte, Surigao del Sur, and Dinagat Islands, as well as six students of BS in Social Entrepreneurship from the Father Saturnino Urios University.
The workshop deployed the British Council’s module based on its program “Active Citizens”—a social leadership training program that promotes multisectoral collaboration and community-led social development. It brought together entrepreneurs with different perspectives to learn from each other. Over the days they teased out their social mission—that is, to innovate, collaborate, and create shared value with a wide base of stakeholders.
